Safe AF (As Facts): My new safety podcast in development

So, I’ve decided to dabble in the podcasting world.

Currently producing the first few episodes of: Safe AF (as Facts)

Lazily pronounced as ‘Safe As’.

It’s a thrifty, low budget, low effort discussion of scientific research in the same general format as my summaries.

Hoping to extend the reach of safety & performance science beyond LinkedIn.

I’m working on the following principles:

·        Less than 10 minutes per episode (goal 6-8 mins)

·        One person (me) and one study, with discussion of other relevant research as required

·         No interviews (or rarely)

·        Little fluff – a brief intro and outro and no catchy mid-pod musical interludes

·        A broad, rather than deep dive, to maintain cadence

Hope to go live on Spotify/Apple/Google etc. in the next 2-3 weeks.

Consider this an experiment – if after the first block of episodes there’s interest from people, and I can be bothered continuing, I will. If not, I’ll bow out.

So, let’s initially consider this more like a self-contained mini-series: but more in the vein of This Is Spinal Tap rather than HBO-quality Chernobyl.

Will share when it goes live.

Huge thanks to the awesome Ben Evans for his help, and The Hive WhatsApp crew.

(PS. And if it does continue, would love to commission a proper pixel artist to draw some banger retro-inspired artwork).
